I LOVE Vietnamese cuisine. Specifically Vermicelli. Vermicelli is one of my favourite foods. So is Banh Mi. That's why I appreciate when a restaurant does it well.
Alex Canteen is located in the Queen Victoria Markets. It is a small business that serves a range of different Vietnamese foods such as Vermicelli, Banh Mi, and noodle soup. When I first went to Alex Canteen I looked at a man on another table who was eating something that I thought looked delicious. I asked my mum what it was, and when I found out it was the Vermicelli, I ordered it. It didn't disappoint. The food is great but sometimes the wait time is longer than expected because they are so busy. Dining at Alex Canteen is a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Plus, it's at the markets so you can get your grocery shopping done when you're there!

Xe om is just such good food. The Vermicelli is extremely delectable, and the seafood laksa is top notch. This is what I would call a hole in the wall place. The food is quick and extremely delicious and filling, I always get SO excited when I know that I'll be going there! The music adds to the vibe as well.
